Fascinating: First Ever Dashcam Recording (1906)

One of the channels we follow on YouTube, Global Leaks, posted this video a while back of what they claim to be the first ever dashcam recording. The recording is allegedly from early 1906 and takes us on a brief journey down what is also alleged to be Market Street in San Francisco.

Some viewers have commented that the footage had to be recorded before the Great San Francisco Earthquake, which basically leveled Market Street (photo below) in the early morning hours of April 18, 1906.

Whatever the case, the footage is remarkably clear for its time—much clearer than most grainy security camera footage today—and equally as fascinating to watch (at least to us).

Forty-something years later, Michael still doesn't' know what he wants to do if he grows up. Raised around cars and trained in diesel mechanics, Michael has owned a successful detail shop, developed and sold software, lead a K-9 SAR team, ridden the dot-com wave as a sales/marketing/PR executive, led digital strategy teams at both large and small agencies, and now this. He digs Jeeps, off-road racing, football, photography, flying, trains, making EDM, cranking metal, PC gaming, and a plethora of other contradictory things.
